Tandberg Model 5 Reel-to-Reel tape recorder - NOT FUNCTIONAL BUT REPAIRABLE

The Tandberg Model 5 (also known as the Series 5) is a classic, vintage 4-track reel-to-reel tape recorder introduced by the Norwegian manufacturer Tandberg in the late 1950s.
Key Design and Visual Features
  • Distinctive Cabinetry: It is famously housed in a styled wooden cabinet (often teak) with a distinctive cream or beige grill on the front face.
  • Control Layout: The top plate features a unique bakelite joystick-style lever for transport control (Play, Rewind, Wind) and a central cream-coloured head cover bearing the vintage Tandberg script logo.
  • Magic Eye Tube: It includes a central "magic eye" vacuum tube (EM84) that glows green to serve as an audio level indicator.
